Limarí River Wetland

This wetland, declared of international importance by the RAMSAR Convention, protects more than 130 species of animals and plants, many of them endemic. Notable among these are the Chilean iguana, the mullet, the Atacama toad, and the cururo, in addition to countless migratory birds. It extends from the Salala sector to the mouth of the Limarí River in the Pacific Ocean.
