Coquimbo Region, Los Vilos Commune
Coastal wetland with a high diversity of flora and fauna. Nearly 70 bird species are prominent, including the coot, the lesser and greater mallard duck, the northern shoveler, the coscoroba swan, the black-necked swan, and the marsh crow. It covers an area of 50.9 hectares and feeds on the waters of the Conchalí Estuary and high tidal input. It is part of the list of protected wetlands under the RAMSAR Convention.
