The Fray Jorge Forest National Park is a World Biosphere Reserve, because it has a Valdivian forest in a coastal desert area, which makes it a natural phenomenon that you will not find anywhere else in the world. It is located in the province of Limarí, about 400 kilometers north of the city of Santiago and has an area of close to 10 thousand hectares. In addition to being able to contemplate its flora and fauna, among which are octopuses, hummingbirds, harriers, guanacos, degus, foxes and pumas, the Park is certified for having dark skies free of pollution (starlight).
