It is one of the most typical and unique natural areas in the central region of the country, covering 8,000 hectares in the heart of the Coastal Mountain Range. It is characterized by one of the last forests of Chilean palm, an endangered species, as well as interesting mountains for day or weekend climbs. As a historical fact, in 1834, Charles Darwin reached the summit of the hill that gives the park its name.
