La Roblería del Cobre de Loncha was declared a National Reserve in 1996 due to the presence of endemic species of flora and fauna classified as vulnerable, such as peumo, boldo, quilla, hulo and Chilean palm. It is administered by Conaf and is part of the National System of Wild Areas Protected by the State.
