Taapacá Volcano or Nevados de Putre

Arica and Parinacota Region, Putre Commune

Be the first to review

With its 5,775 meters above sea level, it is part of the Larancagua mountain range, located north of the town of Putre. Despite not being a 6,000 meter volcano, its altitude continues to represent a challenge for mountaineers. In ancient times, this volcano was a ceremonial site for the Incas, as vestiges of this culture have been found at its summit.
